The second L.P's final track 'The Chandelier' was originally written as a poem whilst I was on holiday. I had a strange dream a sort a potentially astral dream. Although I can assure you it was only a dream. It was enough however to prompt me to write a short poem (of sorts) about the experience. I put the poem to music, and ended up making this song. The lyrics to 'the chandelier' concern geological phenomena such as the continental rift, central to forming the continents, and rift valleys. The lyrics were written in a town between two cliffs by the sea in Italy……! The song explores spiritual ideas such as Astral travelling I.E the Astral commuter. 'The chandelier that glows in the sky' could be described as the sun whilst 'The mercury that rises in a thermometer' merges the idea of mercury the winged messenger of the gods from greek mythology, with mercury the element in a thermometer etc…! Live it up….!
lyrics
The Chandelier that glows in the sky
This morning I saw myself in action moving slow,
time to go outside of my person.
Taking my time this morning,
to wander around the bay,
you hear them say,
'where is my person ?'
I check the mirror to see what I find,
an astral commuter, no body or mind,
walking through gardens, and bedrooms to find,
there is a chandelier that glows in the sky,
the blue sea, and change of the tide,
a casual change of my mind,
and the chandelier that glows in the sky !
Falling from my self this morning,
to walk around the hills,
where plant life spills into the pavilions,
and on the horizon,
Mercury rises in a thermometer,
then sat perched amongst the cliffs,
then watch as the valleys rift,
into the continents,
into the continental drift,
then sat perched amongst the cliffs.
I check the mirror to see what I find,
an astral commuter no body or mind,
walking through gardens, and bedrooms to find,
there is a chandelier that glows in the sky!
The blue sea and change of the tide,
a casual change of my mind,
there is a chandelier that glows in the sky !
