Named 2019, this album was an attempt to streamline my efforts from 2018-2019's 'Soundtrack' album. Creating this album started soon after Easter 2019 and the last track included here was recorded and produced two weeks before the 2020 coronavirus lockdown. Writing this during the lockdown of 2020 it is ironic that many of the pleasures that are profiled in the tracks on this album are at the moment off limits, provides a bittersweet feeling in putting this album together. Movement and activity is as much a part of the creative process as sitting at the keyboard and creating a track. I often come up with more ideas swimming, walking or driving the car as I do sat around waiting for ideas to come.

This album is totally instrumental and I play all the instruments. Influenced by psychedelia, progressive music but also progressive electronic albums and particularly the music of the 'kosmische' variety that often accompanied my commutes around the countryside during this period. Albums like La Dusseldorf's self titled, Michael Rother's Flammende Herzen, Kraftwerk's Autobahn, CAN's Future Days and more.

It felt clear to me that the album's concept essentially came to an end following the announcement of lockdown 2020 where I started creating music in a new atmosphere and environment almost immediately and a sort of concept album regarding my life in the new situation started to take shape. But here is 2019, an album profiling a year.

i always say this with every release but I do think it's one of my best.
