Although quite short, this track took quite a long time to make owing to it's layers. There are many obvious and recurring patterns in nature and to think about these can be quite comforting at times. I wrote many lines of words based on recurring manifestations in nature and in-particular I took an interest in the earth's relationship towards space or in this case the solar-system (the sun). So armed with different rhyming patterns based on the solar-day (the time it takes for earth to rotate about it's axis) I applied chance scenarios to these lyrical situations using torn up bits of paper. What I ended up with was the verse that makes up this song/chant. I then used these words to influence the melody and rhythm of this song and sang the lyrics in a polyphonic fashion multilayering two vocals on top of each other. For the music on this song I set myself a rule that I would only use two chords/scales a second interval away from each other, these were E minor and D major.

A piece of music that replicates the Solar day, in much less time than 24 hrs.
